1943

John Henry Copleston was killed in action at Primosole Bridge in Sicilly during fierce fighting in World War 2. 9th Batallion Durham Light Infantry.

Trevor Copleston was one of the pilots, when a plane was hijacked to Algeria and former president Tshombe of Congo was detained. Captain David Taylor and Captain Trevor Copleston were both held hostage

1967

Trevor Copleston piloted the privately chartered Hawker Siddeley jet, that landed in Gibralter March 20th 1969. The passengers were John Lennon and Yoko Ono. They were married at the registrar’s office.
